Reports to: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction and

the Superintendent of Schools

Job Summary:
? The Director of Secondary Education & Data Management is a district level position that reports
directly to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction and the Superintendent of
Schools. The Director of Secondary Education shall have general responsibility for all aspects of
the development, implementation, and update of secondary education curriculum. S/he will
supervise all secondary educational programs and services and work closely with the building
administrators and department coordinators to implement the programs.
Key Responsibilities:
? Lead curriculum and instructional initiatives for grades 6–12.
? Provide leadership for curriculum development initiatives, including curriculum review, approval,
and implementation processes.
? Oversee district data systems, reporting, accountability, and analytics.
? Manage academic performance monitoring and improvement planning.
? Manage and interpret data systems to align school performance metrics with state standards and
research-backed best practices.
? Coordinate instructional technology initiatives and data governance.
? Support secondary principals and department coordinators.

? Develop and oversee the secondary master schedule to support course access, staffing, student
pathways, and program alignment.
? Manage academic performance monitoring, MTSS implementation, and improvement planning.
Qualifications:
? State Education Department Certification - SDA or SDL
? Minimum of five years’ administrative experience, with Central Office level work preferred
? Ability to effectively manage time and fiscal resources
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Extensive knowledge of secondary programs
? Demonstrated use of data and research focused on improving student achievement
? Knowledge and effective use of technology in instruction, management, and communication
? Strong and collaborative leadership with an honest, transparent, and inclusive style that supports
high student outcomes and educational excellence
? Knowledge about the implementation and supervision of the APPR process
? Knowledge and understanding on building master schedules
? Knowledge of grants and grant writing
