Elementary Principal
Start Date - July 1, 2026 
Salary - Commensurate with Experience and Collective Bargaining Agreement 
Terms of Employment - Probationary Appointment / 12-month position
Reports To - Superintendent of Schools and/or Designee

 

 

Job Qualifications
  • Valid New York State School Building Leader Certification 
  • Minimum five years of teaching experience, administrative experience preferred 
  • Extensive knowledge of Literacy Programs 
  • Extensive knowledge of differentiated instruction and instructional strategies 
  • Demonstrated use of data and research focused on improving student achievement 
  • Knowledge and effective use of technology in instruction, management, and communication 
  • Demonstrates experience in building partnerships and resources and a willingness to work with various community partners 
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills with the ability to welcome interaction with all members of the school community (students, teachers, families) and the community at large to advance the school's mission/vision 
  • Strong and collaborative leadership with an honest, transparent, and inclusive style that supports high student outcomes and educational excellence
  • Leverages deep knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment to improve student learning
  • Willingness to learn and grow professionally
  • Ability to inspire excellence in others
  • Innovative in creating novel programs and opportunities for all students
  • Knowledge about the implementation and supervision of the APPR process

JOB SUMMARY -
The Building Principal is responsible for all aspects of the operation and running of the school building including but not limited to the supervision of administrators, faculty, staff, and students, curriculum & instruction, student management, safety, parent and community communication and relations, facility maintenance and management, communication with District Office, pres_entations as needed and necessary, ceremonies and graduation, NYSED reporting, building budget, etc.
